Leon and Micaela - Kay and Monty, Plettenbergbay

Kay and Mony - Plettenberg bay Garden Route wedding

Some weddings feel less like an event and more like a story unfolding in real-time, filled with quiet, meaningful moments and the kind of love that lingers in the air. Leon and Micaela’s wedding at Kay & Monty in the Garden Route was exactly that.

Micaela got dressed in the most intimate setting, just her closest family by her side. Her grandmother sat watching, eyes filled with pride, gently holding her hand as she stepped into this new chapter of her life. It was one of my favorite moments of the day—one of those images that holds a whole lifetime of love in a single frame.

For me, this wedding was extra special. Micaela and I studied art together, so when she chose me to capture her wedding day, it felt like the biggest compliment. Her one request? “Make art.” And that’s exactly what we did.

From the way Leon looked at her as she walked down the aisle to the golden light spilling over the vineyards as they danced into the night, every part of their day felt like a masterpiece in the making. The kind of beauty that doesn’t just exist in the details but in the in-between moments.. the quiet hand squeezes, the stolen glances, the overwhelming joy.

Leon & Micaela, your wedding was a dream to document, and I have no doubt your life together will be just as full of love, adventure, and art.
