Ronel and Gehardt Klaarstroom Wedding

Ronel & Gehardt - Klaarstroom Hotel.

In the heart of the Klein Karoo you will find an often-overlooked stofstraat town called Klaarstroom. This small town nestled along the Swartberge at the top of Meiringspoort, buzzed with anticipation for the wedding of Gehardt and Ronel. The old church, framed by dusty roads and wild shrubs, stood proudly under the Karoo sun, waiting for the bride and groom to say their I do’s.

Ronel, dressed in ostrich feathers, swirled along the dust road to go meet her soon-to-be husband at the church, hours before the Rugby World Cup Final. There was a buzz in the air as guests gathered at the church with their outfits and hats as vivid as the landscape itself. As Ronel walked down the aisle, the creak of wooden benches and the soft murmur of the wind through the Karoo grass created an intimate symphony. After the ceremony, guests welcomed the newly weds with ostrich feathers dyed in hues of the Karoo.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed a beautiful Karoo sunset, some heavy rain and a late night of World Cup infused celebrations. This wedding stayed true to the Karoo - focusing on the people and the camaraderie. I can’t wait to return to this magical small town.
